Some clear numbers about MONEY - or, to be precise, wealth - on our beautiful planet Earth.
Let’s start from afar. According to the Global Wealth Report (Credit Suisse / UBS), total global net wealth is around $450–500 trillion.
And if you are trying to calculate what percentage of this is your monthly salary - don’t. It may end in tears👻
Now, one striking fact:
The combined wealth of the 29 richest people in the world is about $4.4 trillion.
Capitalism uses ‘equal opportunity’ as a slogan—but it does not guarantee it.
🫣 This fact alone is impressive.
But here is where it gets uncomfortable.
According to the same Global Wealth Report, the bottom 50% of the world’s population own roughly $4–5 trillion in total wealth.
Let me repeat that:
Half of humanity owns roughly the same amount of wealth as just 29 people.
So much for the idea that capitalism provides “equal opportunities for everyone”.
If we look at the numbers, those opportunities are not exactly equal🤪
As a marketer, I’d add a small disclaimer:

And finally, if you ever feel like you don’t earn enough, remember this:
around 831 million people live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $3 a day.
In short: fewer than 30 people concentrate wealth comparable to the accumulated wealth of half of humanity.
